Star-studded Washington is close to relegation in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Then team captain Anders Lee had given the Islanders the lead in the first period and Washington's Yevgeny Kuznetsov equalized in the second.

Nicklas Bäckström was missing for the second match in a row after being tough tackled by Anders Lee in the first period of the first match. According to the Washington Post, Bäckström is going through the brain ladder that players must follow in case of suspicion of concussion.
