34-year-old Kompany, best known for his eleven seasons at Manchester City, returned to his youth club Anderlecht ahead of last season.
So now he takes the step out to the coaching staff.
- My ambition and hunger are the same. I want to stay in the club for at least four seasons and prove that Anderlecht can play a modern kind of football, and achieve results, he says on the club's website.
During his career, Kompany won four Premier League titles with Manchester City, and took the World Cup bronze with Belgium 2018.
