Kwang-Hyun Kim started in the first leg of the double header against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and scored 3 hits (1 home run) 3 walks 1 strikeout and 1 run in 3⅔innings.

Kwang-Hyun Kim handed the mound to John Gant in the situation where there were no runners for two companies at the end of the 4th inning, which was a one-on-one tie, and finished the first major league start without a win or loss.

Kim Gwang-hyun recorded 57 pitches, and among them, 33 strikes.

In the opening game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 25, Kim Gwang-hyun, who entered the first season in the major leagues, won a save with 1 inning, 2 hits and 2 runs (1 ERA).
