It was the Swede William Karlsson who started the goal scorer in Edmonton. In numerical disadvantage, he got the puck from Mark Stone and put a backhand shot behind Corey Crawford in Chicago's goal.

- I'm glad I got it. It was nicely played, says Karlsson about the goal to nhl.com.

At the end of the second period, teammate Patrick Brown made it 2-0. Chicago managed to reduce to 2-1 in the third period, but once again could not beat Vegas, which is now just a match away from securing a quarter-final place.

After Robin Lehner guarded the box for Vegas with bravura in two straight games, he was now replaced by Marc-Andre Fleury. The substitute also made a perfect effort.

- He made an incredible match. He made huge saves in the first and third period - two periods that I think Chicago played better than us in, says Karlsson to ESPN.

The fourth and potentially decisive match between the teams will be played on Monday night, Swedish time.
