The PWR Racing stable has a brand new Cupra for this year's delayed and shortened STCC season. Therefore, the reigning champion did not believe in any major successes in the premiere at Gelleråsen. But Dahlgren took the second starting place in the second heat and was able to keep up with Tobias Brink in the race and keep the others behind him.

- It felt great, to come here with a brand new Cupra car and win a race, I did not think so. We've just started with the car. But we basically have a good car, Dahlgren says to STCC.

Brink was first in the finish, but got extra time for a jump start and was poked down to ninth place. Dahlgren therefore won before the British Rob Huff and Oliver Söderström.

"Have dreamed of"

The 19-year-old VW driver Söderström started the day at Gelleråsen outside Karlskoga with a pole position. However, he was overtaken by Tobias Brink early on in the first lap. On the ninth lap, however, the 19-year-old was able to pass.

- It's so damn nice, I've been dreaming about this since I was little, Söderström says to STCC.

- I was behind Brink for a while because I thought it was the first race and I did not want injuries. I lay there to see if he made a mistake, and it paid off.

Ahlberg won the third heat

Brink took second place, seven seconds behind, closely followed by Emil Persson. Britten Rob Huff, stable mate with Söderström in Lestrup Racing Team, was second in the finish, but was knocked down to fourth place after an extra time.

In the last race of the day, Andreas Ahlberg held the lead from start to finish. He won by just under three seconds ahead of Mattias Andersson and just over three seconds to Rob Huff.

- It was super nice, says Ahlberg to STCC.
