"Varg-Olle" Nygren has been on the bike all his life, both in competition and everyday. Whether it's speedway, ice racing, motocross, enduro, fast-paced TT races or adventurous long journeys.

He is the southerner from Stockholm whose unique talent for motorcycling was discovered in the late 1940s by the dynamic leader Arne Bergström in Norrköping.

Olle Nygren was still a teenager when Bergström took him to Norrköping and the club Vargarna. For 30 years, Olle belonged to the world elite in speedway. Despite five World Cup finals, he never became individual world champion, the best he got was a World Cup bronze in 1954.

Comparable to the legends

His popularity was enormous and he was at least as popular as football's Nacka, ice hockey's Tumba and boxing's Ingo.

We get to follow "Varg-Olle" via archive photos, private films but above all through a number of new recordings in Sweden and England. He returns to the speedway arena in Norrköping and to Hedemora where he drove lots of TT races.

The film also features Ove Fundin, Anders Michanek. Björn Knutson and Per Jonsson, all world champions in speedway.
