- The distances are difficult and offer many challenges. We have lost some time here and there during the day. On the fourth stretch we lay in the dust from the car in front and spun. There I probably lost 20 seconds, the 18-year-old says in a press release.

Russian Alexey Lukyanuk, European Champion 2018, is 16 seconds behind in third place. The others are more than half a minute behind.

- We have six difficult distances left to drive tomorrow Sunday, and it is very close among the top drivers. The only thing we can do is keep the pressure up and see where we end up, says Oliver.

Last year, Oliver became the youngest ever European Championship winner when he won Rally Liepaja.
