On August 23, the second round of the Diamond League will be held at the Stadium in Stockholm. In the starting field are from the Swedish side Armand Duplantis, Khaddi Sagnia, Erika Kinsey and Daniel Ståhl to name a few.

Among the international participants, several strong 800-meter runners have previously been presented. Here are, among others, the world champion on both the women's and men's side, Halima Nakaayi, Uganda, and Donovan Brazier from the USA.

High class on the high jump

In the high jump competition, Sofie Skoog and Erika Kinsey will face the best possible opposition in the form of the Ukrainian duo, second and fourth respectively at the WC in Doha 2019, Jaroslava Mahutjich and Yulia Levchenko.

- We will get good peaks at the women's height. Erika jumped well here recently in Sollentuna, says competition leader Jan Kowalski.

However, the gala may be without Norwegian star shine in the form of the hurdler Karsten Warholm and the Ingebrigtsen brothers Jakob, Filip and Henrik.

The reason is that 18 of Sweden's regions are red - listed by Norway. After 15 August, only persons from the regions of Västerbotten, Södermanland and Kalmar County can travel into the neighboring country without a quarantine obligation. The requirement for quarantine also applies to Norwegians traveling to one of the affected regions. Even though it will be a few days before the rules come into force, the Norwegian government is already advising against traveling to Sweden.

Follows developments

The Norwegian runners will compete at the DL gala in Monaco on Friday night, but since the principality is also red-listed in Norway, they will have to be quarantined for ten days when they return to their home country.

Kowalski is following developments closely.

- We know that there is interest in competing. But we will go out with information when we know how it will be. He (Warholm) competes in the 400 meter hurdles in Monaco tonight and we will see later when he has competed. I want to wait to say something before we know it. In a normal year, there would have been no strangeness at all. But we see how Norway one day opens the border with Värmland and the next day closes it.
