FC Twente has secured the arrival of Danilo Pereira da Silva on Friday. The Enschede team will hire the 21-year-old Brazilian attacker from Ajax next season.
It had been clear for a long time that Danilo would temporarily switch to FC Twente, but the clubs could not officially announce it until Friday because the paperwork had not yet been completed.
Danilo has been active at Ajax since the summer of 2017, which at the time took him over from Santos FC for 2 million euros. He started in the highest youth teams and played in the past two seasons mainly in Young Ajax, for which he scored 24 times in 42 Kitchen Champion Division duels.
The striker, who can also play on the wing, made his debut in the first team in February, in the 1-0 lost competition match against Heracles Almelo. He played three games so far, in which he scored once, in the Europa League game with Getafe (2-1 win).
Danilo is reunited at FC Twente with Kik Pierie, who is also rented from Ajax for a year. Previously, Gijs Smal (FC Volendam), Nathan Markelo (Everton, rental), Václav Cerny (FC Utrecht, rental), Lazaros Lamprou (PAOK, rental) and Alexander Jeremejeff (Dynamo Dresden, rental) were also brought in.
