The Executive Director of Al Wasl Club, Chairman of the Hand Union Election Committee, Muhammad al-Amiri, said that the committee is composed of five members, including three legal experts, Hamad Al-Zeyoudi, Youssef Ahmed, and Hassan Al-Marzouki, in addition to Muhammad Kahour.

The committee approved by the "General Assembly" last month gained the confidence of the "extraordinary general assembly" the day before yesterday, as it will oversee the elections for the Federation's Board of Directors in the 2020-2021 session, for which a date has been set for the 27th of September.

Al-Amiri said in a press statement: "The legal provisions require the presence of one legal expert out of the five members, but for greater transparency, there are three legal experts."

Regarding the steps taken to prepare for the elections, he said: “The committee is in charge of direct supervision of the electoral process, starting with the union sending the official letters to the clubs to nominate their representatives, for which a date has been set for the first of September, then the rest of the other stages, which include receiving all the names of candidates and announcing the lists. The final elections will be held on the 18th of the same month, ending with the elections for the new board of directors on the 27th of that month, and then the appeals period, which has been set for three days, until September 30th. He concluded: “We look forward to the democratic process of the Federation elections for what is in the interest of the game, in the same way as what the last general assemblies witnessed, whether those that approved the need to amend the statute laws and the approval of the election and appeals committees, or the last assembly, the day before yesterday, which approved the system. The main cornerstone of all upcoming electoral rounds ».
