Yesterday, the UAE Professional League’s Ordinary General Assembly approved a mechanism for distributing the League’s revenues to member clubs for the canceled 2019-2020 season, and proposed two systems for distributing the proceeds of the next season 2020-2021.

The proposal for the last season’s distribution mechanism, submitted by the clubs, has been approved to make the distribution according to the approved ratios for the period preceding the decision not to complete the League and Under-21 League competitions (Round 19), then distribute the rest equally to all clubs, and keep the approved mechanism for the distributions of my competitions. The Arabian Super Gulf Cup and the Arabian Gulf Cup, due to completing the two competitions.

The meeting, which was held by remote visual communication system, was chaired by the Association's President, Abdullah Nasser Al-Junaibi, and was attended by members of the Board of Directors and representatives of the 14 professional clubs.

Al-Junaibi said in a press statement during the meeting that the League and the entire Emirati football family are happy with the resumption of the activities of our clubs' stadiums, whether through training or preparations for the tournaments that will start next September. He added, "A return to sporting activity would not have been possible without the wisdom of our wise leadership." He continued: “The UAE was a pioneer in controlling the emerging Corona pandemic (Covid 19) and limiting its spread, through precautionary plans and measures, and provided all capabilities and expertise to overcome the crisis.”

The President of the UAE Professional League confirmed to continue working to preserve the safety of the people of the Emirates and residents on its soil, and said: “We are now facing a new challenge, the start of the new season, passion for matches, fun and excitement in the green rectangle, and the chants of the stands, but we must continue to apply the precautionary measures, to ensure Providing health and safety for all members of the professional system.

In his opening speech, Al-Junaibi praised the efforts of national authorities, the Ministry of Health and the first line of defense in limiting the spread of this epidemic and following the best standards, as well as professional clubs, for their commitment and keenness to follow the protocol adopted in this regard. He said, "Hand in hand, we will overcome this exceptional crisis. Our role will be more beautiful and stronger."

After that, three members were appointed to review the meeting minutes, and they are: Khamis Al Mazrouei, representative of Al Dhafra, Nasir Al Dhafri, representative of Ajman, and Hamid Yousef, representative of Al Wasl Club, followed by ratification of the minutes of the previous meeting, and then voting on amendments to the articles of association, as the “General” approved the proposed amendments.

The meeting continued by reviewing the Association's activity report and the strategic plan, followed by the approval of the financial and budget statements for the 2019-2020 season, and the approval of the final account presentation in September of each year, at the executive directors meeting.

The first proposal included a fixed prize for the first three-placed holders in the league championship, including the incentive awards, which include: public attendance, Asian participation, in addition to the distribution of percentages according to the following: 35% equally among all clubs, and 65% according to the order in professional tournaments, except for the Cup The Arabian Super Gulf, whose award is fixed: 1,000,000,00 for the champion and 500,000,00 for the runner-up.

As for the second proposal, it includes incentive prizes, and includes: public attendance, Asian participation, in addition to distributing percentages according to the following: 35% equally among all clubs, and 65% according to order in professional tournaments, with the exception of the Arabian Super Gulf Cup, whose prize is fixed at 1,000,000 00 for the champion and 500,000,00 for the runner-up. The Association will send the proposals for the distribution mechanism to the clubs again, as the clubs will have a week to continue studying the proposals and respond by choosing one of them.
