Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky became the historic winner when she won one of the races during Gelleråsen's STCC two years ago. The victory came only after many ifs and buts. She was first disqualified because the exhaust system did not comply with the regulations. To then be named the winner again.

- That is exactly what you only want to be part of once, says Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky to SVT Sport.

For this season, 27-year-old Åhlin-Kottulinsky has a new car. A car that she should have received in April but which only arrived three weeks ago.

- We have only had two training days in it. But in the long run there is potential. If we get to the car, I can win already now. But I am humbled that it is a new car, says Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky.

The victory changed the future

During the conversation with SVT, Åhlin-Kottulinsky herself discusses how much the victory at Gelleråsen meant for her career.

- It really was a huge boost. In addition, self-confidence a huge boost to continue to perform. It has long been difficult for women in the sport, because you have to have someone to associate with. But after that, little girls have started to come forward to say that they want to start driving, Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky concludes.

STCC Gelleråsen is now running on Saturday and Sunday 15th and 16th August.
