When the Swedish Sports Confederation's chairman Björn Eriksson visited Morgonstudion last week, he opened up that it could be the case that the tone towards politicians would soon be raised to get more money and the opportunity for more spectators in the stands.

Now it has happened.

On Wednesday evening, after RF had a meeting with a reference group with representatives of ten special sports federations, a press release was published in which they state that they need support with half a billion kronor from the government - and an audience in the stands.

- We agree on the importance of the government having to extend the financial support by SEK 500 million for the third quarter. We have also discussed the challenges that exist regarding the limit of 50 people at public events and that it is important that there is a more flexible interpretation, says Björn Eriksson, and clarifies that they need this message as soon as possible:

- The politicians have not given any new information about more state support to federations and associations that bleed financially, even though they know that the sports movement will lose at least another 1.2 billion kronor if the current corona restrictions remain until September. We know that we can not expect to be fully compensated, and we have respect for the fact that many areas of society are hard hit by this pandemic, but we need a positive message now
