The Association of Professionals will hold its regular general meeting No. 1 of 2020, at 5 pm today, through visual communication technology.
During the meeting, annual amendments to the articles of association will be approved, and reports of the association’s activity and the strategic plan will be reviewed.
It is also scheduled to approve the financial statements and the budget for the 2019-2020 sports season, in addition to adopting the mechanism for distributing club revenues to members of the General Assembly for the seasons 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, according to a statement issued by the Association.
Emirates Al-Youm learned that the meeting will witness the adoption of the annual amendments to the statute, which includes the presentation of seven amendments, including the launch of the new name for the U-21 League to the reserve league, and the amendment of Article 22, which is related to the Federation’s Board of Directors as an executive authority consisting of a president, a vice president and five Members, provided that the president, his deputy, and three members are elected, and the president appoints the rest of the members, so that the amendment is made until the president appoints two members, who have the powers of the elected members, so that the amendment matches the articles on appointing the rest of the members, and indicates the powers of the appointed members when making decisions.
Among the proposed amendments as well as in particular items 5 and 6 of Article 31 of the Articles of Association, which relate to the terms of reference of the General Assembly, for the approval of the financial statements and the approval of the budget, so that the amendment will be based on the approval of the annual financial statements for the final account, in order to coincide with the dates of the general assembly, which are Within 61 days of the end of the season, during which time the estimated budget for the next season has not been finalized.
The amendment also includes items 8, 9, 10 and 13 of Article 42, related to the agenda of the Ordinary General Assembly, and provides for the presentation of the final balance sheet, the review, the profit and loss account statement, the approval of the financial statements, the approval of the budget, and the appointment of three independent financial auditors based on the proposal of the Board of Directors. And the approval of the annual audited financial statements, to be in line with the powers of the general assembly in case the amendment is approved.
A proposal will be presented to the General Assembly to delete Clause 8 of Article 56/1, related to the terms of reference of the Board of Directors, which would have allowed the appointment and termination of the services of the Executive Director of the Association based on a proposal from the President, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors is the one who deals directly with the Director The executive, who is his direct boss, and adding two items requires the approval of the estimated budget and the preparation of annual financial statements.
The General Assembly will witness the launch of the new title for the U-21 League.
A proposal to delete the clause of appointment and termination of the services of the CEO will be presented.
