Both ski stars are extremely strong runners and Johaug has even gradually started a running career. Among other things, she passed the World Cup qualifying limit of 10,000 meters earlier this summer in a competition at Bislett in Oslo.

Karlsson, on the other hand, has not started competing in running, but she has devoted herself to internal competitions on the training sessions.

The most notable was when Karlsson twice broke records in the legendary test race up Hallstaberget in Sollefteå. In early June, she ran up the hill in 8 minutes and 36 seconds. Later in the summer, she polished the record by four seconds. Ebba Andersson had the previous record of 8.50. The race is 1800 meters and you complete 210 altitude meters.

"My favorite form"

Karlsson loves to run and does not rule out that she may also consider trying track running.

- I think it's incredibly fun to run. It is my favorite form of exercise during the summer. We'll see if it fits with a competition on the track but I still look at it all as training. But if it had suited me, I would very well have stood up, says Karlsson to VG.

The head of the athletics competition at Bislett Steinar Hoen has previously told NRK that he is not interested in arranging a stunt, but that it could be interesting with a duel if Karlsson shows potential for track running.
