Willian bids farewell to Chelsea with a message on "Twitter"

Brazilian midfielder Willian has confirmed his departure from England's Chelsea football team after explaining his decision in an open letter on Sunday.

Willian, 32, may not leave the British capital, London, in light of reports indicating that he is close to moving to Arsenal, the recent FA Cup winner, with a weekly salary of 150,000 pounds ($ 195,000).

Willian joined Chelsea in 2013 from the Russian Angie team for 30 million pounds, and contributed to the Blue team winning two Premier League titles, winning the FA Cup in 2018, and winning the European League championship last year.

"It was a wonderful seven years," Willian wrote on his Twitter account.

"Today I'm sure that was the best decision," Willian added. "There were not many happy times, some of them sad, there were titles and they were always very huge."

"It is now time to leave," the Brazilian said.

"I will definitely miss my team-mates," Willian stressed. "I will miss all the staff at the club who have always treated me like a son and I will miss the fans."

"I leave with my head up and it's safe because I've won things here and I've always been doing my best in a Chelsea shirt," Willian concluded.
