Elfsborg took command as expected and already after ten minutes the ball hit the Östersund goalkeeper's left post after a home defender cleared the ball.

Östersund leveled the game a bit into the match and the best goal chance was given to Noah Sonko Sundberg who shot outside from close range in the penalty area.

But it was Elfsborg, and then above all Jesper Karlsson, who shot close over and had a rock hard nod that forced Aly Keita to a giant save. Johan Larsson also had a dangerous shot that Östersund's Thomas Isherwood steered close outside.

Fourth time valid

At the beginning of the second half, Jesper Karlsson finally got a dividend. On his fourth goal chance, he pounded in the lead goal on volley in the 50th minute.

Rasmus Alm also got a good shot chance but Aly Keita made a nice save.

With half an hour left to play, Elfsborg's Simon Strand received a red card after stopping a free-running opponent. Östersund tried to force for a draw. The closest was Charlie Colkett with a couple of hard shots that Tim Rönning in Elfsborg's goal could control over the crossbar.
