Amanda Zahui's New York Liberty has had a very tough start to the WNBA season. The team lost all of its first five matches, but last night came the long-awaited first victory.

The team defeated the Washington Mystics by 74-56, and a large part of the victory can be attributed to the Swedish star. She accounted for 14 points and 14 rebounds, which was a new record during her WNBA career.

- We all deserve this. We've been through a lot. It feels good. I am very proud of my teammates, she says in a statement on Liberty's Twitter account.

With the win, New York Liberty leaves the league jumbo spot to the Connecticut Sun.
