The extraordinary general assembly of the swimming federation, which was held yesterday afternoon, decided to hold a workshop to approve the amendments to the statute of the federation, as it approved the organization of the workshop within a week under the chairmanship of the Secretary General of the Swimming Federation, Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, and the presence of all member clubs.
Yesterday, the Swimming Federation held a remote meeting of the Extraordinary General Assembly, and 11 clubs attended to complete the quorum, and at the beginning of the meeting, President of the Federation Sultan Al-Samahi welcomed the attendees, and thanked them for the last period, which lasted three years, and wished success for the next council in developing the game and completing the achievements made during the last period.
The meeting began with a discussion of the voting weight item proposed by Al-Jazira Club, and during an intervention by the game supervisor at Al-Jazira Club, Juma Al-Ghailani, he clarified the purpose of the club's request for this matter, which is to motivate the clubs to participate in all swimming sports such as water polo, women's swimming and open water, and its purpose is not to separate Between the clubs, and after discussion and interference by the clubs and the Executive Director of Al Wasl Club, Muhammad Al-Amri, it became clear that there are greater incentives that could encourage the clubs to participate, and he had to withdraw the Al-Jazira Club proposal to close the door to applying the voting weight in the Articles of Association of the Union.
In his intervention, Muhammad Al-Ameri touched on the great success of the Swimming Federation during the past period at all levels, especially since it started its session in difficult circumstances, and said: “The only federation at the state level apart from football which has a basic system list and the handball general has cited what came in The regulations of the statute of the swimming federation, as the latter succeeded in creating interaction and increasing the base of participation and working to increase the base of participants and investments to set a successful example for all federations. Regarding these amendments, they are also in the process of legal action to take advantage of the guiding body’s list of development, not to go back.
Calling an extraordinary general assembly
The Secretary-General of the Swimming Federation, Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, confirmed that the federation will notify the general assembly of the workshop in which the proposed amendments to the statute will be discussed, after which an extraordinary general assembly will be called to approve the amendments to the statute in line with the requirements of the general assembly for the next stage, and the formation of the electoral committee that will supervise On the next session elections. Al-Wahaibi thanked the General Sports Authority for continuing to follow-up on the development of the statutes of all federations in general and the Swimming Federation in particular, as the proposed guiding regulations sent by the Authority were taken into consideration to be presented to the members of the General Assembly.
