Vitesse defeated sc Heerenveen on Friday in a practice game. The team from Arnhem won 1-2 in the Abe Lenstra Stadium, while FC Emmen lost 2-5 to Cambuur at home.

At Heerenveen, Erwin Mulder made his unofficial return under the bar, after he came over from Swansea City last week. He previously played for Heerenveen for three years. Newcomers Joaquin Fernandez and Sieben Dewaele also kicked off.

Vitesse was already 0-2 within fifteen minutes. Matús Bero opened the score, then Thomas Buitink doubled the lead. The striker was injured in the second half.

After half-time Heerenveen managed to narrow the deficit thanks to Chideru Ejuke, but the home team no longer had a draw.

Vitesse, which is still unbeaten in preparation, will play the next exhibition game on August 15. PSV is then the opponent. Heerenveen will face De Graafschap that day.

Mühren scores twice against FC Emmen

FC Emmen faced a 0-2 deficit on Friday in the friendly match against Cambuur (2-5) halfway through two goals by Robert Mühren, who was the previous top scorer of the Kitchen Champion Division. Shortly after the break, Nikolai Laursen made the 1-2 for the Eredivisionist, but after that it was Cambuur that ended.

Via Giovanni Korte (1-3), Michael Breij (1-4) and again Korte (1-5) it became increasingly painful for Emmen in De Oude Meerdijk. With his second goal, Laursen determined the final score at 2-5.

It was the first game in the preparation for Emmen. The club from Drenthe still plays against FC Groningen, Telstar, Heracles Almelo, PEC Zwolle and FC Twente, before the Eredivisie season starts in the weekend of 12 and 13 September.
