Update on predictions: Juve has the advantage.  Beaten in the first leg by a rather playful Lyon team, Juve nevertheless approached this return match as the favorite team. The Turinese have not missed a quarter-final of the competition since 2016 and have a workforce denser than that of OL. The experience also leans on the Turin side, with 28 years and 57 Champions League matches on average against 25 years and 14 C1 matches on the men's side of Rudi Garcia. The direct confrontations are finally dominated by the "Old Lady": three wins, one draw and one defeat, which helps to make Juve the favorite of the evening.

Update on the regulations: an innovation for the end of the season.  This is the main modification of the rules in this post-coronavirus C1: "Five substitutions will be authorized during all the remaining matches of the 2019-2020 season, in accordance with the temporary amendments to the Laws of the Game," announced UEFA.

Update on Olympique Lyonnais: a machine to restart.  A week after its official return to competition with a defeat in the Coupe de la Ligue final against PSG (on penalties), will OL be in the limelight on Friday night? The Lyonnais could pay for a necessarily incomplete preparation for such a match, with a Ligue 1 stopped in mid-March due to the Covid-19. They will nevertheless be able to count on their star striker, Memphis Depay, who has returned from a serious knee injury, but will have to do without their defensive midfielder Lucas Tousart, who left for Hertha Berlin.

Update on Juventus Turin: how fresh for the "Old Lady"?  On the Turin side, there is no shortage of competition: the Italian championship, which resumed after confinement, ended last weekend after a very tight schedule in July. The Bianconeri have won Serie A but have drawn physically to retain their title at the expense of Inter Milan, their dolphin. Leonardo Bonucci, Miralem Pjanic, Juan Cuadrado and of course Cristiano Ronaldo (129 goals in the Champions League)… Juve advances sufficiently armed to destabilize the Lyon defense. Only the Argentine Paulo Dybala is uncertain, but could return during the game, replacing his compatriot Gonzalo Higuain.

Update on the atmosphere: the in camera required. As has been the case since March and the handful of matches played before confinement, football is played without spectators, or almost, in Europe. The resumption of the Champions League is no exception to the rule and the evening meeting, at the Allianz Stadium, like the following ones in Lisbon, will be played with stands that ring hollow.
