In this weekend's supercar, Johan Kristoffersson will have to compete against the only one who is perhaps better known than himself in Arvika.

74-year-old motoring legend Per Eklund became European champion in rallycross in 1999 and Swedish champion as late as 2011. Eklund also won the first rallycross competition run in Sweden, and made his debut as early as 1971.

Eklund and Kristoffersson have a special relationship. Johan's father Tommy was one of Per Eklund's biggest rivals when he fought in the absolute rallycross stop in the 1980s and 90s.

"Per and I had a lot of fun for us"

- Me and Per had a lot of fun for us, especially me. I remember putting Per's sponsor decals on Kenneth Hansen's car and Dad's car and getting ice cream money. There can certainly be new jokes this weekend, says Johan Kristofffersson.

He looks forward to meeting the 42-year-old Eklund.

- It will be great fun to compete against Per. We have run into each other once before, in 2014 at Solvalla. But then we did not drive in the same heat. Hopefully we will go in the last heat with the fastest. Then we have done a good job, says Johan Kristoffersson.

Do you have a chance Per?

- That is probably the start in that case, if you can get away well. Because it's easy to get off to a bad start. Then we probably do not see more of Johan, but get to look in the rearview mirror, says Per Eklund.

SVT broadcasts from rallycross-SM and RallyX Nordic on Sunday in SVT1 13.30-16.55.
