After an initial loss to the Vancouver Canucks, they now have two straight victories in the so-called play-in series that decides which team will make it to the actual Stanley Cup playoffs.

The previous victory was long overdue, but tonight it was clear numbers. The first goal came through Brock Boeser in the second period and there Pettersson was responsible for the performance.

Antoine Roussel increased to 2-0 early in the third and then Pettersson determined the result in numerical superiority with less than two minutes left to play.

The Canucks switched and the 21-year-old Swede got the puck from the great back talent Quinn Hughes. Pettersson slammed right in and the puck went in behind Alex Stalock in the Minnesota goal.

The goal was the Swedish star's first in this year's playoffs.

Markström kept a clean sheet

If Stalock had a pretty tough night, it was all the better for his Swedish colleague Jacob Markström in the opponent's goal. He kept a clean sheet and made 27 saves.

After the victory, Vancouver is a match from advancement to the playoffs' first round.

Due to the corona pandemic, the playoffs are played without an audience and are decided in their entirety in Edmonton and Toronto.
