It was a dramatic meeting between Arizona and Nashville with seven prominent Swedes on the ice who accounted for two goals and a total of five points.

Viktor Arvidsson stood out the most. Just like in the last meeting, he scored with his lightning strike on a pass from Filip Forsberg.

On Tuesday, his goal contributed to victory - this time it was a loss.

Flashy start

Nashville made a brilliant first period, especially through the "Jofa chain" with Ryan Johansen, Forsberg and Arvidsson. But despite 19-9 in shots, Arizona scored the only goal of the period.

Niklas Hjalmarsson shot and Christian Dvorak led 1-0.

Arvidsson equalized in the second period and was a constant threat. At the start of the third period, Kyle Turris shot 2-1 - but after an offside challenge from Arizona, the goal was ruled out.

Instead, Arizona scored three straight goals. Connor Garland was 2-1 after he cheated both Nashville defender Mattias Ekholm and goalkeeper Juuse Saros, Taylor Hall put 3-1 played by, among others, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Carl Söderberg made 4-1 in an empty cage.

Florida reduced

Arizona is making its first playoff game since 2012 and can a little surprisingly beat Nashville in the qualifying round if they win the fourth game on Friday. Nashville makes its sixth straight playoff game and was in the 2017 final.

Florida took the last chance and reduced to 1-2 in games against the New York Islanders after a 3-2 victory.

Two goals in just over two minutes at the beginning of the third period decided when Mike Hoffman and veteran Brian Boyle's goals took Florida to a 3-1 lead.

Thus, the hope for Anton Strålman's and Lucas Wallmark's club lives on. Wallmark made his first playoff appearance after sitting in the stands in the first two games. The fourth match is played on Friday.
