It has been a dizzying day for sports and club manager Tom Tärnström after yesterday's announcement that the Swedish Sports Confederation rejected Karlskrona's appeal of the licensing committee's decision.

Väsby gets the place because they managed to win, won the final of the hockey league before the season was closed down due to the corona pandemic. Now elite hockey will be played again in Upplands-Väsby. The club is better known as "Vilda Väsby" after the club's unlikely performance when they went up in the Elite Series, current SHL, 1987.

- There are many who remember, who have sat in the stands here and been with us during these thirty years regardless, even when we were down and turned in division 2 a few years ago. It will be great fun to give back and be at the level where I think Väsby should be, says sports and club manager in Väsby Tom Tärnström to SVT Sport.

"It's full roll here"

Väsby's player squad, where the players trained on their own during the pandemic, gathers again on 17 August. The premiere in hockeyallsvenkan is scheduled for October 1 and there is a lot to do now for Tärnström and the rest of the office.

- It is in full swing here and at the office we work hard with everything from ticket systems to logistics, security and more and I take great responsibility for the sporting part that must be done in part for us to be able to assert ourselves in the Allsvenskan, says Tom Tärnström to SVT Sport.

- Everyone around the club has been involved for a long time and worked. We have surprised before, we have done it all the way in hockey and we will continue to do so here.
