The Syrian Radio "Sham FM" confirmed through its account on the social networking site "Facebook" the names of the seven people infected with the Corona virus in the Syrian national team, the camp, in preparation for the resumption of World Cup 2022 qualifiers and the Asian Cup 2023.
The radio, quoting a statement reached by the Syrian football team, said that the matter concerns the players, Mardik Mardikian, Muhammad Anz, Ahmed Ashkar and Ahmed Al-Ahmad, as well as the injury of members of the technical and administrative staff, including Assaf Khalifa, Wissam Gibour, and Muhannad Asaad.
The radio confirmed that the Syrian Football Association decided to isolate the players and staff infected with the virus away from the team’s residence, and that they were provided with the necessary medical care until they recovered.
The Syrian team entered a local camp with the participation of local players only in light of the current conditions, and led by the new Tunisian coach Nabil Maaloul.
