PSV's training and matches at the training camp in Germany will all be completed this week without the presence of supporters, it was decided after consultation with the organization.
"The corona restrictions that apply in the area where PSV resides, in combination with the logistics on site, make a manageable course of open training impossible," PSV writes in a statement on the site on Monday. The club therefore urges supporters not to travel to Marienfeld.
The news comes three days after PSV saw the first exhibition game being canceled in the run-up to next season. One hour before the kick-off, a player from opponent UNA heard that he had tested positive for the corona virus.
PSV, which was already present at De Herdgang and therefore only organized a friendly game between its own players, will play two friendly matches in Germany next weekend. The team of trainer Roger Schmidt starts against SC Verl on Saturday and will face KFC Uerdingen 05 on Sunday.
The selection of PSV leaves on Monday with 29 players for the training camp. Goalkeeper Maxime Delanghe and left back Chris Gloster are part of the selection for the first time and also Young PSV talents Richie Ledezma and Justin De Haas are joining.
