The Swedish midfielder, formerly of AIK, played 80 minutes when Orlando won tonight's quarterfinals - but it was a shaky journey to the semi.

After just over half an hour, it looked like LAFC took the lead when Jansson lost the mark on Bradley Wright-Phillips who scored 1-0, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR review.

At the start of the second half, Orlando received a penalty that former Manchester United star Nani missed. Instead, LAFC took the lead after an hour of play when Diego Rossi twisted the ball on the right wing and Wright-Phillips caught up with Jansson at the front post. The Swede was then replaced in the 80th minute.

The equalizer came in the 90th minute when João Moutinho put his forehead on a corner from Nani. The match was then decided on penalties where Orlando showed the most coldness and set all five of their penalties. Nani took care of the fifth and decisive penalty and completed the peeling.

Now either Minnesota United or Magnus Eriksson's San Jose Earthquakes await in the semifinals next week.
