[Explanation] As one of the three major competition areas of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the 4 competition venues in Zhangjiakou competition area will undertake multiple snow events. On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the successful bid for the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics, on July 30, the reporter visited the Yunding Ski Park in Chongli, Zhangjiakou. As the main venue for freestyle skiing and snowboarding at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the six tracks here are more concentrated, allowing athletes to save time on shuttles and have better energy to participate in the competition.

We can see from left to right is the U-shaped pool, slope obstacle technique, parallel giant slalom competition field, here is the obstacle chasing field, and behind the opposite mountain is the aerial technique and snow technique field. According to the climatic conditions in Chongli, snowmaking usually starts in mid-to-late October. In fact, compared with Sochi and Pyeongchang, the biggest advantage is our track concentration. The six freestyle arenas will be on a single field, which can save traffic time to the greatest extent, and then also provide athletes with longer rest time, because many athletes are concurrent.
[Explanation] Shu Wen said that Yunding Ski Park relies on the reconstruction of the original ski trails and combines the characteristics of the mountain topography to minimize the amount of construction. During the construction, full consideration is given to the balance of earth and rock excavation and filling, and at the same time, attention is paid to the reuse of water resources to promote the ecological sustainable development of the stadium.

Basically reaching the excavated earth, it is backfilled to the race track, which saves engineering effort. Because Chongli is the rainy season throughout the summer, after the completion of the earthwork, grass and vegetation were planted on these competition fields to prevent soil erosion. We built a reservoir under the mountain to use the snowmelt water and the rainy season water for reuse. Used for snow making in the snow season, it will save a lot of energy.
[Explanation] At present, all six tracks of Yunding Ski Park have completed the construction of the main project, and the next step will focus on the construction of temporary facilities. After the Winter Olympics, some tracks are also expected to be further opened to the public.

Some tracks are highly professional, including venues such as aerial skills and snow skills, and will give professional training to the national and provincial teams after the game. We will open to the public, such as U-shaped pools, parallel giant slalom, and let them experience the Olympic track. In the summer, we will plant vegetation, and there will be some summer sports on it, including mountain biking, camping, mountain trail running, etc., which will all be enjoyed after the Olympic Games.
