The first round of the World Championship Series for Men's Golf was held in Tennessee, USA on the 30th, and Hideki Matsuyama made a decent start with 15th place, 6 strokes from the lead.

This World Championship Series tournament will compete for four days without qualifying.

Matsuyama, who is the only Japanese player to play, went round the first round with four birdies and two bogies, and was 15th with two unders and six strokes away.

Matsuyama said, "The shots are getting better, but I'm still in the game. I was able to play the short games without making too many mistakes, so I was not stressed."

American Brooks Kepka, who won the tournament last year, is in the lead with an 8-under par with two strokes in second place.
