It is now clear that 41-year-old Bartosz Grzelak will be the new head coach of AIK, this after Rikard Norling had to leave the club on Monday. The club now announces this on its website.

The Swedish-Polish coach is a familiar face in AIK circles as he was assistant coach to Rikard Norling during the golden year 2018. He has also previously played in the club.

- We are very happy and proud that we have agreed with Bartosz. Bartosz was a strong contributor when we won the Swedish Championship gold in 2018 and with his personality and his modern leadership, where he stands for the development of players and a forward-leaning way of playing, we look forward to the future together. The journey with Bartosz and the rest of the staff at Karlberg to create a stronger AIK starts now, says AIK Football's sports manager Henrik Jurelius to the club's website.

Bartosz Grzelak most recently came from the U21 national team, where he was assistant coach to Roland Nilsson.

However, he has spent most of his coaching career in IK Frej Täby, where he was on the journey from division 2 to the super one for ten years.

AIK fired their coach Rikard Norling on Monday after a weak start to the season.
