Uppsala, Vittsjö, Kristianstad and Rosengård - all teams away within 22 days, and in between two home matches. Piteå IF is in the middle of its toughest period for the season with long journeys. On Wednesday, the team lost away against Kristianstad and on Sunday, Rosengård is waiting in Malmö. To avoid many travel days, the team charges in Eksjö, Småland.

- It has been good to be able to land in one and the same place. Since it is a very small town, you easily get a homely feeling, which we are used to in Piteå, so it almost feels like home here, says Ellen Löfqvist to SVT Sport.

"Not many believe we will win"

The team went down to Kristianstad on Tuesday, played a match on Wednesday and then went to the hotel in Eksjö. On Saturday, the journey continues to Malmö where they will face Rosengård on Sunday. Rosengård has been a nightmare opponent for the team and they have never won a match against Skåne.

- The fact that we never defeated Rosengård, it is an incredible carrot for us. Outwardly, not many people think we will win, but it will be a fight out there, says Löfqvist.

For coach Stellan Carlsson, the focus is on getting the squad to recover properly before the weekend to reverse the negative trend with two losses.

- It is the most intense and toughest period we will go through. The most important days are the ones we have now between the matches. We must work to have time to recover in a good way and also gain strength mentally. There are of course football-related things, but they do not matter if we do not get to the other, he says to SVT Sport.

Piteå can do without team captain Löfqvist who was injured in the last match.

- We take it day by day, hopefully it goes so well that I can be available, she says.

Rosengård – Piteå is played on Sunday 14.00. SVT broadcasts the match on SVT1 and SVT Play starting at 13.50.
