IS Göta runner Russom decided the race late and won only five seconds ahead of Samuel Tsegay, Hälle IF and twelve ahead of Mohamed, who finished third.
A victory for "Mickey" had meant his 26th Swedish Championship gold in his career - more than anyone else - but despite staying in the lead throughout the race, he could not respond to Russom's jerk at the end.
The Swedish record in the half marathon is 1.01.17, set by Napoleon Solomon in Barcelona last year.
