The Chairman of the Emirates Taekwondo Federation, Brigadier General Ahmed Hamdan Al-Zayoudi, who has chaired the Federation since 2016, stressed that the secret of the qualitative shift witnessed in Taekwondo in the Emirates is due to the generous support and care of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Honorary President of the Emirates Taekwondo Federation, And the relations that His Highness has with the President of the International Taekwondo Federation, Dr. Korean Chu, which paved the way for strengthening international relations, which reflected positively on the efforts being made to develop Taekwondo sport in the country.

Al-Zayoudi told «Emirates Today»: “We based our development efforts on the participation of clubs in the success industry, so the relationship between the Taekwondo Federation on the one hand and the clubs and specialized centers on the other hand turned into a partnership between all aimed at success and not a competitive relationship, which paved the way for the exchange of ideas and proposals. "All of which was in the interest of the game."

Al-Zayoudi thanked all the members of the Taekwondo family, singled out the Sharjah Club for Self-Defense Sports, the Fujairah Martial Arts Club and the Sharjah Club for Individual Games, indicating that the majority of clubs made special efforts and left fingerprints that contributed to the qualitative shift that occurred, and that the coming period of organizational work will witness more communication with it As parties to the success formula.

International coach

The Taekwondo Federation has contracted with Egyptian coach Tamer Salah to oversee the training of national teams for men and youth for both sexes, and he is one of the coaches with achievements as a player and coach at the same time, in line with the requirements of the next stage, to explore and train champions for the future.

Although the new coach assumed his mission early this year, he succeeded in achieving quick achievements that appeared in the Arab Championship that was held in Fujairah.

In this context, coach Tamer Salah told «Emirates Today»: “I feel optimistic about achieving an Olympic or world title, although the task is not easy, but the presence of many distinctive materials from the players and the confidence of the Taekwondo Federation gives us hope to achieve this.”
