After a long period of weak results, Rikard Norling was fired the day after the derby loss against Djurgårdens IF.
At the press conference, Norling admits that he has had a bad feeling in recent weeks.
- It did not feel good and after the match against Häcken I felt that this might not be so good for the club. We have gone to the pump and lost two games 4-0 and then I felt that I needed to find more right in the game.
- So every now and then I started to feel that it must not continue like this. it's not good for the club.
As the weak results have come, more and more critical voices have been raised about AIK's new game idea.
Norling says that the new way of playing is a decision he himself made without any influence from sports director Björn Wesström.
- The gameplay is nothing but my decision, no shadow should fall on him. I will continue to avoid reviewing my bosses' jobs.
