It was in the French cup final between Paris Saint-Germain and Saint Etienne that Kylian Mbappé's foot gave way after a violent tackle from St Etienne's team captain Loic Perrin.

Big fights broke out and Mbappé could not play the match that PSG won 1-0. After the final whistle, the 21-year-old celebrated the cup gold on crutches.

PSG now writes on their website that Mbappé will be gone for three weeks when he suffered a severe sprain in his right foot.

This means that the star will miss the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Atalanta on 12 August.

The Champions League play-offs will be decided in Lisbon, where the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played on 12-23 August.
