IFK Gothenburg's coach Poya Asbaghi, who has been forced to use a double-digit number of midfield pairs this season, placed Johansson in the midfield with the justification that the load is less than in the inner midfield.

- It is clear that you are a little unsure before. I have played midfielder before but basically I still see myself as an inner midfielder. This is where I have played most of my career, says Jakob Johansson.

Uncertain about the national team class

30-year-old Jakob Johansson pushed Sweden to the World Cup in Russia with a decisive play-off goal against Italy in 2017. In recent years, he has been hit hard by knee injuries. He moved home to the Allsvenskan and "Blåvitt" before the season after stays abroad in AEK Athens and French Rennes.

If he keeps national team quality, he does not want to say.

-It's very difficult to say. It is the first match with 90 minutes and it is very nice to know that you are holding. But of course there are things to improve in terms of play and decision-making, he says.

-The most important thing I take with me today is that the body feels good and the knee feels great, says Jakob Johansson.
