- It will be challenging from time to time, but I assure you that we, together with the players' union that we work with at every step of the way, try to do everything possible to make this an experience you will never forget - on a good way, says NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, according to nhl.com.

24 teams settle for the Stanley Cup title. The Western Conference team plays in Edmonton and the Eastern Conference team plays in Toronto. The semifinals and final will then be decided in Edmonton. All matches are played without an audience.

The plan is that the first Stanley Cup final will be tentatively played on September 22 and that the final game will be ready by October 4.

Video game sound

With the help of technical solutions, one should try to replace the feeling of the audience on site. Among other things, the NHL collaborates with the video game company EA Sports to use their background sound and the team's fans have been allowed to record cheers. In addition, you will use more cameras than usual to give the TV audience a different experience.

- Instead of using spectators in cardboard or teddy bears in the stands, we have decided that we will do something that is really aimed at the fans at home, who enjoy the TV experience, says Steve Mayer, content manager for the league.

200 guards

Players will stay at three different hotels in Edmonton and two in Toronto. The hotels with surrounding areas are completely fenced and within walking distance of the arenas where the matches are played. Over 200 guards guarantee that the players do not come into contact with anyone other than those who are allowed to be within the security zones.

- Ensuring that the protection zone, the bubble, the hub is intact, is very important to be able to ensure that everyone's health and well-being are taken care of. Leaving the bubble is simply not something we can accept, says Bettman.

12,000 towels

All players will be tested daily and the test results should be ready within 24 hours. In addition, automatic measuring stations have been set up in several places within the safety zones where, among other things, body temperature can be measured.

At or adjacent to the hotels, there are spaces, both indoors and outdoors, for players to pass the time. For example, meeting rooms, gyms and own cinemas.

Several training rinks are located near the safety zones and the league says that in each city they have already stocked up with over 1,000 bottles of sports drinks, as many training pucks and 12,000 shower towels.
