Dr. Hussain Al-Reda, one of the indigenous Arabian horses in the country, died.

Al-Reda is considered one of the most prominent doctors in the country in the world of purebred Arab horses, as he specializes in fractures and orthopedics, as well as in neurosurgery, and received the Hamdan Award for distinguished medical personalities at its third session in the medical field in the UAE in 2003-2004.

On the level of his relationship with horses, Al-Reza worked as general coordinator for the races of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award, while his relationship with the horses began to be cared for by his late brother Habib Al-Rida who owned a stable of horses in 1975, before his wish to possess a private farm was realized, when he purchased a number From horses from Germany and Poland, he set up the farm and opened it in 1982.

Al Reza was born in Dubai in 1935, studied elementary school in the Pakistani city of Karachi, then moved after that to study the secondary stage in Beirut, while in 1957, he moved to Germany to study medicine and devoted the first year of his presence there in studying languages, and continued studying at the Faculty of Medicine At the University of Munich to obtain a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1966, and then in 1969 he obtained a doctorate from the University of Tobingen to begin a journey of specialization in general surgery, and work in the German Hospital Paul, where he graduated until he became head of the Department of Surgery.

In 1974, after a long journey in seeking knowledge, and a distinguished experience he had in the beginning of his life, he returned to his hometown Dubai, to start from it again a long journey in the context of contributing to building the country and benefiting as much as possible from the knowledge and experience he received outside the state for the benefit of his countrymen, and treating patients in Rashid Hospital.

Due to the recent medical era, and the local community’s need for a specialist in the accident department, he was sent again on a scholarship to Germany to obtain an advanced certificate in the field of emergency surgery and injuries, and also to work during this period in the neurosurgery department at the Gonsberg Hospital.

After this distinction in 1977, he returned again to Dubai to establish the first department of trauma surgery, and to head and manage it according to modern surgical methods. For the first time the technique of orthopedics and joint replacement was used as well as working in the neurosurgery department.

Al-Reda contributed to organizing training courses for a number of doctors and technicians, and this section became one of the most important departments in the hospital due to the high rate of injuries as a result of accidents and others, and the many critical cases that he treats. Among the most prominent of these accomplishments and complex surgeries is the success of the amputated hand restoration process in the patient’s body, for the first time in the department’s hospitals in 1996.
