With only a few of the top players left on the field, Norén was in a split sixth place, four strokes from leading American Michael Thompson.

38-year-old Norén started the competition with a 67-round which was followed up with 69 strokes on Friday.

Henrik Norlander also made his best round so far in Blaine, 67 strokes, but is further back in the field.
