PSV will be setting up a training camp in Marienfeld, Germany, from 3 to 9 August, to prepare for the new Eredivisie season. The people of Eindhoven play two exhibition games there.
The team of the new trainer Roger Schmidt starts on Saturday, August 8 with a friendly match against SC Verl, which will play on the third level of Germany next season. Schmidt was under contract with that club between 1995 and 2002.
PSV ends the training camp a day later with a friendly game with KFC Uerdingen 05, which, like SC Verl, plays in the 3. Liga. Because of the corona measures, all training and matches of the Eindhoven team are completed without an audience.
The first exhibition game leading up to next season, PSV will play in the Netherlands against the amateurs of UNA, which will play in the Third Division. That match will be played on Friday 31 July at training complex De Herdgang.
In August, the number four of the past Eredivisie season will compete against Vitesse (August 15) and Willem II (August 21). PSV starts the new Eredivisie season on Sunday, September 13 at 4:45 PM with an away match against FC Groningen, where former PSV player Arjen Robben is under contract.
Schmidt led his first field training as a trainer of PSV on Monday. The 53-year-old German succeeds Ernest Faber, who temporarily took the honors since December 2019 after the dismissal of Mark van Bommel.
