The KNVB has made the Eredivisie program official for Friday next season. Only a few adjustments have been made to the concept program, to the disappointment of FC Groningen and others.

Based on a concept program presented earlier this week, clubs were allowed to request changes. The union has subsequently adjusted some starting times and dates (PDF).

The season therefore officially starts on Saturday 12 September at 4:30 PM with FC Utrecht-AZ. The other top clubs also start with an away match. Feyenoord will compete against PEC Zwolle, Ajax will go to Sparta Rotterdam and PSV will play against FC Groningen.

The latter club had strongly agitated against the concept program, because the home matches with PSV and Ajax are both in the first half of the schedule, so that there can only be a limited number of fans or, in the worst case, no fans at all in those meetings.

According to general manager Wouter Gudde, FC Groningen has done everything to move one of those duels. "Unfortunately, we only found understanding, but were not successful. According to the KNVB, it was not possible to adjust the program, because they necessarily wanted to program all top matches in the second half of the season. We understand that, but it now affects our supporters our eyes are unreasonably hard and that is difficult to digest. "

At the end of the year, the program in the Eredivisie will be announced from the 22nd round. The schedule is already there, but the dates and start times are not yet complete. In addition, any European obligations and duels in the TOTO KNVB Cup must also be taken into account.
