Eight minutes and 32 seconds.

This is Frida Karlsson's record time in the classic Hallsta test. A legendary fitness test among cross-country skiers where the challenge is a maximum run of 1800 meters with 210 altitude meters straight up Hallstabacken in Sollefteå.

SVT's ski expert Johanna Ojala is impressed by both Frida Karlsson's and Ebba Andersson's results on the slopes.

- It is a very good time that she set yesterday when she polished her record by four seconds. It's a really strong time, 8.32. A test is a test and that says the most about the form of the day that day, but doing these times in such a short time obviously testifies that she has an enormous capacity, says Ojala and continues:

- Ebba (Andersson) who was the holder of the record before and who also has an enormous capacity, it is two really strong girls who have done these times. Frida has also cut almost 20 seconds on the previous record time that Ebba had.

"So go to hell hard!"

Ojala says that there are many ski stars in addition to Karlsson and Andersson who did the test - and that she herself also ran on the slopes on several occasions.

- The Hallsta test is one that Hallstagymnasiet runs, so I also ran the test when I went there. All students at the ski high school who went to Sollefteå have ridden it and since then various clubs, teams and national teams have probably also been there. Most national team skiers have in one way or another been through the test.

You who did the test, how hard is it?
- It's so damn hard, haha. It's awful!

- It goes a bit in serpentine roads when you cross the slalom slope and you also have a waiting curve when you get up near the hotel which is really steep. The test also starts with a proper slope in the slalom slope so it is really tough. Depending on the weather, it can be slippery and muddy, which does not make things easier on the precipice towards the end when you go up to the finish line. It is important to constantly balance on the edge of the lactic acid so that you do not become completely dumb.

"Masters it brilliantly"

Ojala believes that these impressive test times are impressive, but also something completely different from what the ski stars should mainly focus on as winter approaches; to perform on the ski track.

- Frida has capacity and she shows that with this test. Then running up its distinctive character and a three mile in Holmenkollen or ten kilometers in Gällivare is something completely different. You should get this out partly in your continued training where you should avoid injuries and illnesses and then at a later stage also out on the ski track. But we have seen before that both master brilliantly.
