The nickname "Kraken" has been suggested by supporters and refers to a sea creature from the Nordic mythology.

- Kraken is a name born of fans. It was proposed and developed by fans, says Tod Leiweke, CEO of Seattle.

The choice of name ends a 19-month discussion in which proposals such as Sockeyes, Evergreens and Metropolitans have also been on the table as additional names.

The club has also presented which colors you will play in at home. On social media, the jersey has been shared and received great comments from NHL supporters across the league. A shirt that basically goes in dark blue, with lighter blue elements.

At the end of last year, the Seattle Krakens became clear as the NHL's 32nd team and will play their first season 2021-2022.
