That makes him a member of the exclusive club: Under 10 in 100, under 20 in 200 and under 44 in 400 meters. He joins Wayde van Niekerk in the very exclusive company. The two are the only ones who have managed the feat.

22-year-old Norman broke through last year by running 400 meters in 43.45 and 200 meters in 19.70. When he accelerated away from the field in the small competition in a sunny Texas, it was the first time in four years he ran the distance, where he previously recorded 10.27 as the best.

"After four long years, I finally ran 100 meters," Norman wrote after the season debut on Twitter. The wind was allowed +1.6 meters / second in the back.

Warholm's rival impressive second

400 m hurdles specialist Rai Benjamin, training buddy and roommate with Norman, was second in the race at personal best 10.03.

"Maybe I should change branch," joked Benjamin, who is the Norwegian Karsten Warholm's biggest rival, on Twitter.

Norman came to the WC in Doha last autumn as the favorite in the 400 meters but looked powerless in the semifinals where he was last. He then felt an injury and could not do himself justice.
