Despite his supporting role at Real Madrid, Gareth Bale has no plans to leave this summer. According to his agent Jonathan Barnett, the 31-year-old Welsh attacker is having a great time in Madrid.
"Gareth is doing well. He likes living in Madrid and not leaving there. He has another two-year contract," Barnett told the BBC on Tuesday .
Bale was missing in the selection for the last league game of the season on Saturday at Leganés and sat on the bench in the six games before that. He then caused some commotion by coming across as uninterested.
"Of course there is interest from other clubs, but there is hardly anyone who can afford him. It is very unfortunate that he is not in the team now, because he is no less than anyone," said Barnett.
Zidane just doesn't want to line up Gareth
In the summer of 2013, Bale transferred a record amount of 101 million euros from Tottenham Hotspur at the time, but he never really managed to make an indelible impression and always had a difficult relationship with trainer Zinedine Zidane.
Barnett: "Gareth is not out to stay longer than Zidane. He is very successful. There is no hate, Zidane just doesn't want to draft him. Gareth trains every day and always does it well."
Zidane reacted gruffly at a news conference last week to questions about Bale's future. "Gareth is one of us. You are trying to drive us apart, but you are not going to succeed. We all want the same thing," he said.
