The president of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBL), César Salinas, died of the Covid-19, the Interior Minister said on Sunday. "Cesar Salinas is deceased, friend, supporter and president of The Strongest Club and the FBL," wrote Bolivian Deputy Minister of the Interior Wilson SantaMaria on Twitter.

"With deep sorrow and pain, I can confirm that Mr. Salinas is no longer with us," confirmed the president of the Wilstermann club in Cochabamba, Grover Vargas.

Salinas, who was 58 years old, had been hospitalized since July 9 in a clinic in the Bolivian capital, La Paz, where he had received a plasma donation from the goalkeeper of the Bolivian selection, Carlos Emilio Lampe, who cured of Covid-19. Bolivia, 11 million inhabitants, has identified 58,136 cases of Covid-19 to date, with 2,106 deaths.
