The bidding on the card, which is signed by the now 35-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star, started at SEK 1.3 million 26 days ago. The final price is the highest so far for a trading card on a basketball player since they began production in 1980.

“Only a total of 23 cards of this collection were produced at James. The card attracted 34 bids in 26 days ", writes the NBA on its website.

Darren Rovell of Action Network, writes on Twitter that the winning bid came from a CEO and founder of a San Francisco-based company.
