It was during a training session on a bicycle in Lillehammer earlier this week that the accident occurred when the 23-year-old crashed and injured himself.

Now a few weeks of alternative training await the Norwegian, who also misses the roller ski competitions at the Blink festival in Sandnes the first week in August.

"It is sad with injuries, but fortunately it looks like it will heal relatively quickly. A little alternative training during this time of year should go well ", she says in a press release.

The Norwegian national ski team's doctor Øystein Andersen expects up to six weeks of rehabilitation before Udnes Weng can train with maximum load again.
