Table four Sirius has had a great start to the Allsvenskan, much thanks to Yukiya Sugita who has been one of the team's most influential players.

In the 4-2 victory against league-leading IFK Norrköping, the 27-year-old struck with two goals, but soon the team can manage without its successor.

Sugita's contract extends until July 23 and at the moment the match against Kalmar looks to be his last in the blue and black jersey. However, Sirius is working to be able to keep Sugita for a while longer.

- After his agreement with us expired, he has an agreement ready with the Iranian club Tractor Sazi. We have a dialogue with intermediaries about being able to print the agreement so that it kicks off a month later in Iran. This is based on the fact that their league, as far as I understand, is not running yet, says Sirius sports director Ola Andersson.

"Working to get him extended"

Andersson develops what the process looks like and that it is not entirely easy to get information.

- We are working to get him extended until August. Then it would be fantastic if it could be that he could stay the whole Swedish season, but it is not something we hope for.

It is not entirely easy for the Uppsala club to get clear information.

- It is a communicative challenge to get official answers from the club in Iran.

So you're a little in their hands?

- Not so little, much!

Sugita wants to stay

Sugita himself would like to see a solution where he stays longer in Sirius.

- I want to stay here. If I get the chance to stay in Sweden and in Sirius, I will take it. This is a way of playing that suits me well and I like being here, Sugita told Fotbolldirekt in early July.

Furthermore, Andersson believes that it would weigh heavily for Sirius to keep the Japanese.

- He has meant a lot to our way of playing football by getting the ball in the pockets of the opponents and moving forward. He is technical and fast on his feet, so he is difficult to get hold of.

Sugita has scored four goals and one assist in Sirius' nine opening games.
